At Lok Kala Manch, New Delhi, the students of Srijana Art and Culture captivated audiences with their stage performance “Dilli – 6”. The play, an Indian adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” was beautifully reimagined in the vibrant colors and unique flavor of Old Delhi by director Sameep Singh.

The adaptation was penned by Lalit Singh Pokhariya, and the 1 hour 45-minute production brought alive the sights, sounds, and spirit of Delhi-6. The local language, humor, and rustic charm created a deep connection with the audience.

Cast Highlights
The play’s quick scene changes and character swaps were a treat to watch. Performers like Anil Kunti, Mantri, Shivam, and Rohit brought incredible energy to their roles as gangsters and goons. Characters such as Than Singh, Lalli, Shalini, D.P. Ji, Patwari, Biharilal, Andilal, Julie, Sarpat, Balamdeen, and Pritampal were portrayed with great liveliness and authenticity by the young actors.

The Spirit of Srijana
This performance was the culmination of Srijana Art and Culture’s 3.5-month student training program, where students explored every aspect of theatre — acting, music, design, and stage management. The audience’s thunderous applause at the end reflected the success and passion of the entire team.
